I feel as though such statements are made from those who suffer from the side effects of the very same ignorance that supports and works as an essential foundation in the ideology of people who practice racism. “Yes, that’s because you’re black”. “Of course you do, you’re a black”. Does this make sense? Imagine if the black consciously demonstrated acts or made statements of their own that epitomize and shamelessly embody stereotypes that are widely perceived to be true. Put this in perspective. The black constantly asks for fried chicken at a restaurant not necessarily because they find it to be delightful, but because they wish to grow a better understanding of the restaurant and it’s policies. Perhaps the restaurant’s food doesn’t look very fulfilling to begin with. Perhaps the black really wishes to learn about the batter and not the actual chicken.
